Learn a Craft, have a Life

Work is the creative clock we follow. The timepiece by which we survive by the fruits of our labor. Since we're in the watch-making business, shouldn't this clock be the best clock -- we best craft?

Lyrics to the song. Paint on the wall. Solutions for problems. Lessons for a child. People are best when they're at their best.

Ancient Personal Wisdom

Somehow, I found myself in a Google search for myself, and dropped in on my own blog entry from 6 years ago -- and I was enlightened to find some good advice I shared with myself near the end of a troubled period...

It's not about knowing when to stop loving. It's about knowing when to change your course.

With a smile, looking back I can identify the time of this "ancient blog" as the momentary kernal of the mind-set that opened doors to the path of possibilities that led to my life's love today.

How I love them both.

Kamen Rider V3 : A Childhood Hero

Ask any military brat that spent anytime growing up in Asia or in the Pacific in the 1960s and 70s -- Kamen Rider and his later upgrades, my personal favorite -- V3, were as relevant to fighting injustice as Bat, Spider or even Super men in general. In fact, I believe I even had a calendar from the early 1970s which portrayed Spiderman and several Kamen Riders fixin' to rumble.

Appears, there is going to be an English speaking version of a Kamen Rider movie a la PowerRangers. The trailer on YouTube, didn't intrigue my nostalgia, but the 3D rendering clip below, gives the original V3 theme music new life.

Parental Chi

Recently, I discovered something true about my parents.

Through their actions, their persistence and beliefs, they strive.
I'm only beginning to understand -- that through their purposeful efforts -- they both yearn and achieve the organization, stability and courtesy they each desire.

I suppose that when someone is born into this sense of stability, that same someone has a unique opportunity to imagine... anything.

I'm thankful to my mom and dad for this gift.

The Aging Civic Paradigm

Each new generation and social circle which plants itself deeply in the community are the most qualified to share in the growth of local culture.

Future community leaders are at odds with the establishment because the new rules applied often become culturally obsolete by the time they are enforced -- resulting in stifling innovation and growth itself.

I believe the Creativity required to craft guidelines for the future also requires input, feedback and collaboration from the fresh crop of local, dusty-handed entrepreneurs.

But, until, our aging civic leaders and their retirement accounts become less important than those citizens yet to rise -- we'll remain where we are.

The Difficulty in Becoming

Being certain is required. Being careful is key. Sometimes, in our own hurt, becoming civil is the most difficult to do.

Walt's Inspiration Machine

In the West, the economy is built on Brand.

Beginning at the King Ranch in South Texas, thru Chisolm Trail fire-irons, near mountain-side mine intials and as San Francisco 's docks first filled with ornate artwork painted on wooden crates, America is built upon symbols. Those strong symbols, no matter the faith or industry, whom maintain integrity are those symbols that endure.

How many have done more to create lasting Brand Integrity than Walt Disney? Walt left us decades ago, and yet, even today his lasting Brand Culture continues to inspire new generations to innovate and elaborate his core mission...

Sometimes, I think Walt was creating an Imagination Machine, in the form of mouse ears.

SoZen Formula for Innovation

Education and Enterprise equally power Innovation double-fold, but Inspiration fuels it all.

Inspiration = Ed + Ep =Innovation2

Or my math and science lessons might've worn thin.
